The Cleveland City Council will hold the first of two public hearings on Monday, July 11, on whether to put forward a referendum on package liquor sales in the city.
Last Monday night, city administrator Kevin Harris announced that two public hearings would be held on the issue prior to the council voting on whether to place the question on the general election ballot in November.
If approved by the council and voters, the referendum could pave the way for liquor stores to open inside Cleveland city limits.
Tonight’s public hearing will be held as part of the regular city council meeting that begins at 6:30 PM at Cleveland Community Center/Police Department.
The city council will hold a second public hearing on the issue Monday, July 25 at 6:30 PM.
