The Fourth of July holiday weekend kicked off today in Cleveland with a mouth-watering fundraiser. Family Promise of White & Habersham partnered with WRWH Radio to present the 5th annual Great American Pie Auction.

Listeners tuned in to 93.9 FM and bid over the phone, in person, and online. The station auctioned off 26 pies donated by local bakers. Proceeds will benefit Family Promise and its efforts to support families facing homelessness.

Family Promise is the only homeless shelter in White County and is an essential resource for homeless children in Habersham and their families. The nonprofit provides services to help overcome and prevent homelessness through a strong network of local church congregations and volunteers. This network provides shelter, home-cooked meals, and loving fellowship for families who enter the program for an average of three months. Comprehensive case management, education, training programs, and counseling services are made available to move guests from homelessness to self-sustainability.
