George “Truett” Fincannon, age 77, of Carnesville, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, following a sudden illness.
Mr. Fincannon was born on February 17, 1945, in Stephens County, Georgia to the late Edward and Louise Fincannon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Jaquetta Fincannon; brother, Wendell Fincannon. Mr. Fincannon was retired from Standard Telephone with 32 years of dedicated service. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. Truett was a member of Truth Fellowship Church. He loved the Lord, his family, and farming. Truett was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather; he was known as “Papa”. Truett loved life and was always making a joke and laughing.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Malena and Joel Hewell, of Cleveland; son, Wendell Fincannon, of Republic, Missouri; grandchild, Makayla Hewell, Maryville, Missouri; grandchild and spouse, Auston and Kayla Hewell; and Kayla’s daughter, Addi, all of Carnesville.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2022, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Jay Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the Grant Reeves Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2022, at the funeral home.
Everyone is asked to wear their “Blue Jeans” to honor the life of Truett.
