It’s recital week for the dancers at the Clarkesville School of Dance and the students have spent months preparing for their show. There will be two shows on Saturday, May 14th at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., at Habersham Central High School Theater. Tickets are still available online if you want to show support to our local dancers.

Clarkesville School of Dance is entering their tenth year of operation and currently has 168 students enrolled. Owner, director, and instructor Francie Keene shares her lifelong love of dance with her students. Keene has had more than 40 years of experience included a tenure on Broadway. On her studio website, she says, “I have excitement for the Arts and even more for young people. I want them to know, if they desire Broadway, they can have Broadway, and if they just love to dance, that’s ok too. I love to teach. That’s a great combination.”

If you are interested in having your son or daughter dance at Clarkesville School of Dance, you can register for summer classes now through their website at clarkesvilleschoolofdance.com. Registration for their upcoming season, September 2022-May 2023, will be open online on June 1st, 2022, and in person Saturday, August 6th, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Clarkesville School of Dance is just one of the many dance studios that will be presenting recitals this year.
