Frederick Mitchell “Mitch” White

Frederick Mitchell “Mitch” White, age 73, of Cornelia, passed away peacefully May 4, 2022 after an extended illness.

Mitch was a loving and devoted son, brother, father, uncle, father-in-law, cousin, and a dear friend to so very many. He graduated from Piedmont College, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served during the Vietnam Era. Mitch was thankful for his time spent in the Army and spoke of it often. He worked for Standard Telephone in Cornelia, Georgia, in the 70s and soon after began his wonderful career in the Container Industry. He worked with a dear friend at Container House in Cornelia, which took their business to Texas in the 80s, and that eventually led him to TransAmerica Leasing in Houston. There he would have a long career with yet another company that he truly loved.

His professional career with Standard Telephone, Container House, and TransAmerica Leasing brought him the best of co-workers, business associates, and dear friends – the kind of friends you dream of and folks that meant the world to him. He loved his work and the friendships and memories he made throughout these years brought him immense joy always. The love and admiration felt for him and given back to him by each of the lives he touched was ever-lasting. From his childhood friends to his adult-life friends…if you came in contact with Mitch, you knew it was special. He is truly unforgettable and made a lasting impression of kindness, joy, laughter, happiness, peace, and love to ALL the lives he touched. After retirement, he returned home to Cornelia. He loved his North Georgia hometown.

Mitch had a gorgeous smile and a delightful wit. He was always fun to have a conversation with and loved to tell good stories. He loved his furry friends and those of his family too. They always loved to see Papa coming with his treat in hand. He was an active member in his church family and volunteered many hours helping and giving to others for many years. Mitch had a special fondness for Waffle House too and he enjoyed many meals there with family and friends every chance he got. He was wonderful with Azaleas too and loved ‘Spring Time in North Georgia’ FOR SURE. He always enjoyed working in his yards and was regularly taking pictures to share. We will treasure those forever.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred N. White and Margene “Jean” Benfield White and his brother John Milton White.
