An investigation is underway after a Gainesville man’s body was discovered in Lake Lanier.
Around 7:45 p.m. on May 2, two people spotted the body in the water while walking on a trail inside the MAA Lake Lanier Apartment complex off Dawsonville Highway and called 911.
Officials identified the victim as 28-year-old Bradley Howell Taylor. Investigators say it appeared Taylor was fishing on the bank of the lake and somehow slipped into the water.
Taylor’s fishing equipment was found at the scene. His driver’s license was found on him.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office says investigators do not consider the death suspicious. Taylor’s body has been sent for an autopsy to determine his exact cause of death.
