Scattered power outages reported across Northeast Georgia

Lineworkers have restored electrical service to thousands of customers across Georgia on Saturday after gusty winds swept through the state. Scattered outages were reported across North and Central Georgia.

Hundreds of Georgia Power and electric co-op members in Northeast Georgia temporarily lost service. Affected areas included Banks, Habersham, Hall, Rabun, Jackson and White counties. Electricity went out on the north end of Habersham around noon Saturday when power lines fell near Batesville.

A Wind Advisory has been extended for Habersham, Lumpkin, Rabun, Towns, Union and White counties through the early morning hours of Sunday, March 27. Winds will be from the northwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph possible.
