Jackson Electric Membership Corporation recently donated $5,000 to North Georgia Technical College for electric lineworker student scholarships.

Two $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to students who are registered in the electrical line program at either the Clarkesville or Blairsville campus and have an unmet financial need. One scholarship will be awarded for the fall 2022 semester and the second scholarship will be awarded for the spring 2023 semester.

“Jackson EMC has a long-standing relationship with students and faculty of North Georgia Tech. Many of our apprentice linemen complete the North Georgia Tech Electrical Lineworker certificate program,” said Kelly Grizzle, Jackson EMC Director of Talent Acquisition and Employment. “This scholarship opportunity will allow students to learn about electric cooperatives and the co-op difference – we’re about member satisfaction and service to the community.”

NGTC President John Wilkinson said the college appreciates its corporate donors and is “very pleased to partner with Jackson EMC to encourage students to pursue electrical line as a very rewarding career.”
