Teresa Lynne Fortenberry Ayers, age 65 of Clarkesville, Georgia was called to her heavenly home to be with Jesus on Friday, February 11, 2022, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Demorest, Georgia on January 09, 1957, she was a daughter of the late Hobert & Patsy Ash Fortenberry. Teresa was an honor graduate of Habersham Central High School, Class of 1975, attended The University of Georgia, and graduated from Truett-McConnell College with an Associates degree in Business Administration. She worked for the Federal Reserve for over 13 years and retired in 1996 to assist her husband in their family business. Teresa was the co-owner of Ayers Offices Products, Inc. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling adventures with family and friends to new places and most recently developed a passion for art in which she attended classes with her friends. Most of all, Teresa’s greatest blessing was spending precious time with her family and affectionately being known to her grandchildren as “Grandma Honey.” Her legacy will live on through the lives of her family and friends that she touched and that loved her so much.

In addition to her parents, Teresa was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Glenda Ayers Irvin.

Survivors include her loving husband & soul mate of 43 years, Johnny Ayers of Clarkesville, GA; daughters & son-in-law, Anna Ayers & Fabian Lliguin & their children, Bella & Johnny Lliguin of Delhi, NY; Joni Lynne Ayers & her children, Max & Ella Hill of Nolensville, TN; sister & brother-in-law, Coni & Gene Petty of Richmond, VA; brother-in-law, Kenneth Irvin of Demorest, GA; niece & spouse, Amanda & Matt Hane & their daughter, Madeline Hane of Richmond, VA; niece & spouse, Delaine & Marty Blazek & their children, Jonah, Noah, & Micah Blazek all of Naperville, IL; niece, Lori Beth Irvin of Naperville, IL; many other relatives & friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeff Appling officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
