The Clarkesville Planning Commission discussed the facade of a new Dollar General store coming to Clarkesville at their Tuesday night meeting.
The Dollar General will be located off of Highway 115 in Clarkesville, near the Sutton Terrace apartments.
The panning commission expressed concerns that the new store would look like a traditional Dollar General, metal without much shape definition. However, the developer has put together plans to make the new store fit with Clarkesville’s historic look.
Should the new Dollar General location fail, the building can be repurposed to hold three separate storefronts for new business.
Now that the facade has been approved, the developer and city will work together to complete the necessary documentation and approval processes so that work on the location can begin.
This will be the 12th Dollar General in Habersham County.
