ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Terry Rogers (R-Clarkesville) as the Vice Chairman of the House Economic Development & Tourism Committee. Rep. Rogers currently serves as a member of the House Appropriations Subcommitte on Public Safety and the Defense & Veterans Affairs, Human Relations & Aging, Regulated Industries, and Rules committees, and as the Vice Chairman on the State Planning & Community Affairs Committee.
“I’m very pleased and honored that the Speaker and the Committee on Assignments have selected me for this position,” said Rep. Rogers. “It gives me the opportunity to continue the important work we’ve been doing, which has led to Georgia being the number one state in the nation for business. Outside of constituent service, my top priority is job creation, and I look forward to working closely with Chairman Stephens and the other members to explore new opportunities for my district and our state.”
The House Economic Development & Tourism Committee, chaired by Rep. Ron Stephens (R-Savannah), is tasked with crafting legislation responsible for economic development, business, trade, and any proposed measures that will affect the presence of tourism throughout the state.
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Terry Rogers represents the citizens of District 10, which includes portions of Habersham and White counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2011 and currently serves as the Governor’s Floor Leader and the Vice Chairman on the Economic Development & Tourism and State Planning & Community Affairs committees.
