Dewey Allen Holcomb, age 74, of Toccoa, formerly of Clarkesville, Georgia passed away at his residence on Sunday, October 24, 2021, following an extended battle with cancer.
Born in Habersham County, Georgia on October 1, 1947, he was a son of the late Grady and Maude Tyler Holcomb. Dewey was self-employed as a logger for a number of years but retired from Fieldale Farms as a feed truck driver in 2014. Dewey was of the Baptist faith and currently attended Broad River Baptist Church in Eastanollee, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Talmadge Holcomb and James (Jim) Holcomb; sisters, Betty Evans and Evelyn Ramey.
Dewey was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Miller Holcomb, who passed away on June 5, 2014. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Cindy Holcomb of Demorest, Georgia; and triplet grandsons Adam Holcomb, Daniel Holcomb, and Thomas Holcomb. Dewey also had a special friend, Shirley Cothran, of Carnesville, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brandon Crunkleton, pastor of Broad River Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow the service at Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-3 p.m. prior to the funeral.
Grandsons Adam Holcomb, Daniel Holcomb, and Thomas Holcomb, and nephews Michael Holcomb, Greg Ramey, and Rickey Holcomb, will serve as pallbearers.
