The Hall County School District has a World Champion! Chestatee High School sophomore, Brock Moody, finished in a three-way tie for first at the recent Competitive Wake Surf Association in the Semi-Pro (Outlaw) Skim Division.
Brock made No. 1 in the final World Rankings for the 2021 season along with fellow Americans Reed Cole-Tucker and Cameron Januik. Each scored 348.00. Canadian wake surfer Evan Hudson scored the next highest at 324.00.
Over 1,000 athletes from around the world competed in the 25th annual CWSA World Wake Surfing Championship, held Oct. 7-9 at Lake Conroe in Texas. Events are held around the globe.
Brock plans to continue training this winter and then move into the pro division for the next season, according to a news release from the Hall County School District.
