The COVID-19 numbers in Habersham’s schools have remained relatively stable this week, with the school system’s total number of COVID-19 cases increasing by two.
Last week, the system reported 36 student cases, 12 staff cases and no “non-school staff” cases. This week, the student case numbers have remained the same and staff cases have increased by one staff member. The non-school staff cases have increased to one.
While most schools saw a decrease in student COVID-19 cases, Habersham Central’s confirmed COVID-19 cases jumped from 5 student cases to 14 student cases this week.
Hazel Grove Elementary School, Wilbanks Middle School and the Habersham Success Academy currently do not have any reported COVID-19 cases.

According to Habersham County Schools Director of Nursing and Health Services, Crystal Holcomb, there are 53 students in quarantine for COVID-19 exposure.
