Due to inclement weather, Habersham County is now rescheduling the closing of a section of Chase Road in Cornelia. The road work, previously scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 20, will now begin next week.
The road will be closed to thru traffic between Locke Road and Sellers Loop beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27. The detour is expected to remain in place until Thursday, Sept. 30 at 5 p.m., weather permitting.
The construction will repair two failing cross-drain pipes on Chase Road. The county hopes to have the road completely reopened by Friday, Oct. 1.
The orange highlighted area on the map below shows the section of Chase Road that will be closed. Drivers should plan to use alternate routes.
