The Georgia State Patrol has released the names of two people injured in a motorcycle wreck Thursday on U.S. 441/GA 15 in Mountain City. They are 58-year-old Lee King and 61-year-old Jennifer King, both of Monticello Florida.
Officials say Lee King was driving the motorcycle. As of late Friday, September 3, he remained in critical condition and Jennifer King was in stable condition at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the couple was on a 2006 Harley Davidson traveling north on GA 15 behind a Hyundai Santa FE Sport. Troopers say the bike was following too closely. When the SUV stopped to turn left onto Cross Street, the motorcycle overturned and struck the rear of the vehicle.
Brendan Michael Cross of Clayton was driving the Hyundai. He was not injured.
The accident happened near where a fatal crash occurred just 24 hours earlier. Rabun County Sheriff’s Detention Officer Courtney Faith Zajdowicz, 26, of Mountain City died on September 1 after a suspected DUI driver crashed head-on into her pickup truck.
