This week…
On Monday the 14, kick off the week in Gainesville at Tails and Tales Twilight Storytime, a free evening event for kids at the Rock Creek Park Amphitheater starting at 6:15. Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy music, puppets, dancing and more!
Tuesday the 15, catch Lew-E’s Comedy Circus on the Smithgall Arts Center Lawn in the morning (10:00 am), or at Lake Lanier Olympic Park in the evening (6:00 pm). This show will certainly leave all ages in stitches. Bring a picnic blanket for this free event!
Don’t let the kids take all the fun… on Wednesday the 16, enjoy all-night happy hour and karaoke at Hopscotch in Gainesville Square!
Thursday the 17, catch a $1 screening of “The War With Grandpa,” at the Historic Ritz Theater in Toccoa during their Summer Movie Series. All concessions are $1, and showings run at 10:00 am and 7:00 pm.
Make sure to see a showing of “The Odd Couple: Female Version” at the Habersham County Community Theater, playing Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm. Buy tickets and see more information here.
On Friday the 18, wrap up the week at the Gainesville Farmers Market, starting at 2:30 on the square. Grab Georiga-grown produce, CBD products, soap, local honey and so much more!
This weekend…
Saturday the 19, with events all over Northeast Georgia, you’re sure to find something close to home. In Cleveland, head over to the summer’s first White County farmer’s market at Freedom Park. Vendors will open up booths at 7:30 am and stay open for business until noon– unless they sell out. Make sure to visit for local fruits, vegetables, baked goods, crafts and more!
Stretch it out at Longwood Park in Gainesville with their free Fitness in the Park series from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
Hit the road (or the sidewalk, really) with Kids on Wheels in downtown Clarkesville. Bring your kids’ favorite set of wheels and check out classic cars, emergency vehicles, cruise with Smokey the Bear and more at this free, family-friendly event. Engines and pedals rev at 10:00 am and run to 2:00 pm in the Madison Street parking lot.
At the Sautee Nacoochee Center, start your day with a free class on gardening with native Georgia plants at 9:30 in the Native Peace Garden. Hang around after for information on carnivorous plants. Later, celebrate Juneteenth and artist Ashley Gary in the SNC gallery with a live pyrography demonstration at 3:00 pm, followed by Gary’s artist reception at 6:00 pm.
And finally, head up to Mainstreet Toccoa for the Ida Cox Music Festival, featuring “Tribute: A Celebration of the Alman Brother’s Band.” This free music festival series runs every Saturday until the end of August, and you can check the full lineup here.
