Ruth Maynard Smith, age 80, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021.
Mrs. Smith was born on March 6, 1941, in Raleigh, North Carolina, to the late Herbert Maynard and Mattie Carpenter Maynard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Ray Bragg; and Joann Moore. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 50 years, Jim Smith, of Cornelia; daughter, Stacey Smith Ansley, of Baldwin; son, James Courtney Smith, of Oak Ridge, NC; daughter, Teresa Adams, of Midlothian, TX; son, Charles Jackson, of Tampa, FL; sister, Jean Brook, of Vidalia, GA; twelve grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Private Celebration of Life Service will be held.
