The NWS has confirmed a tornado touched down in southeastern Lumpkin County on Tuesday afternoon.
The tornado touched down around 1:21PM near the intersection of Hwy 115 and Robinson Road. The majority of the damage was tree damage, however some minor structural damage did occur mainly in the form of shingle and siding damage. It remained on the ground until 1:32PM. It reached a peak intensity of high-end EF-0 with winds of 85MPH around the area of Meeks and Pecks Road. It lifted near Claude Parks Road near the Hall County line.
The NWS surveyed the damage in Hall and Banks Counties and determined the damage along Mud Creek Road and Old Cornelia Highway to be non-tornadic. However, straight-line winds of up to 75MPH resulted in localized damage to trees and power lines.
