Michael J. Parsons died peacefully at home on March 31st. He will be sorely missed and remembered for his love of family, reading, travel, community, and especially his smile.
Mike is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Pamela Ann (Shriner) Parsons; son Thomas Parsons and wife Victoria; daughter Patricia Parsons; grandchildren Shane Parsons of Cocoa Beach, FL, Madeliene and Analiese Parsons of Flowery Branch, GA; sisters Sharon (Don) Seim and Jennifer (Charlie) Cray; brother Tim (Ruthann) Parsons; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Glenna; sister Patricia Cheesman; and brother Kelly Parsons.
Mike was originally from Winchester, Indiana, and graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. On the flip of a coin, he and his wife moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he began his lifelong career as a Certified Public Accountant. He was in private practice full time in North Palm Beach, FL, from 1973 until 2009, when he began the steps towards his retirement.
His professional affiliations included the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He was also a Past President of the Exchange Club of the Northern Palm Beaches and the North Palm Beach/Palm Beach Gardens Jaycees, a member of the Finance Committee of his church, St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, and enjoyed giving back to the community.
Mike and Pam moved to Habersham County, Georgia, two years ago to be closer to their children and grandchildren and enjoy a quiet, peaceful retirement. A private memorial will be held at a future date.
