Ronald Leon Kinney (Ronnie), 72, of Clarkesville, Ga., gained eternal life and a healed body on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. He was the son of the late Bert Leon Kinney and Edna Ruth Martin, and James Truett Shook. In addition to his parents, Ronnie is preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Terry Shook.
Ronnie graduated from North Habersham High School in 1966 and then proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After leaving the Service, he obtained a degree in Auto Mechanics from North Georgia Technical College.
Ronnie’s happy place was at his log home he built on land handed down from his grandmother. He loved tending his garden, tinkering on cars in his shop, and making homemade wine.
Ronnie had several jobs throughout his life, including working as a mechanic for Donald Campbell, working a few years at Piedmont Automotive, but his longest tenure was as an ace carpenter for Jones Brothers Construction.
He is survived by his son Boyd Kinney and his daughter, Lakeeta Kinney Brunk, and husband, Tony. Also surviving are his step-mother Barbara Wheeler Shook; sisters Cathy Miller and LesaeBergeron and husband Chris; brothers Michael Shook and wife Thelma and Warren (Buddy) Shook and wife Linda, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
His wishes were to be cremated with no formal services and a private burial in his family plot at Clarkesville Cemetery.
