A manhunt in Lumpkin County ended after the suspect was located in Dawson County early Friday morning.
Law enforcement arrested Dylan Finley after a 911 caller reported seeing a suspicious person matching his description around 9 a.m. off Highway 136 in Dawson County.
Dawson deputies and Georgia State troopers responded to the scene.
“They located Mr. Finley at a residence. He was knocking on the person’s door,” says Georgia State Patrol Sgt. Joshua Hedden. “They were able to surround Mr. Finley and he gave up without any further incident.”
A woman who authorities say was traveling with Finley was arrested Thursday. Elizabeth Anglin and Finley were allegedly carrying drugs. Lumpkin County Sheriff Stacy Jarrard says officers recovered close to two kilos of methamphetamine.
On the run since Wednesday
Officers had been searching for Finley since Wednesday when he reportedly eluded them in Franklin County. “They had chased the suspect around with some drug information,” says Sheriff Jarrard. “We had information he was coming to Lumpkin County with Elizabeth Anglin and bringing drugs into this community.”

The Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office circulated photos of Finley. Jarrard issued a lookout and urged residents in the search area to lock their doors.
“The reason we were so alarmed yesterday is that Mr. Finley made a comment he did not want to go back to prison,” Jarrard explains.
The Sheriff thanked those in the public who kept an eye out for Finley, as well as the agencies that helped track him including the Lumpkin and Dawson County Sheriff’s Offices, Georgia State Patrol, and GSP Aviation.
“Thank you to everyone involved that stayed up all night looking for this guy.”
