An armed robber walked away from the scene of a crime in Lula this weekend. Now, investigators hope his shoes and gun will help lead them to him.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office issued a lookout Monday for a man who was sporting bright red tennis shoes and brandishing a turquoise-framed handgun during a holdup. Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect on March 7 as he robbed the Circle M at the intersection of GA 365 and GA 52.
Deputies responded to the robbery call around 12:30 a.m Sunday. According to initial details, the male suspect approached the cash register, pointed a handgun at the clerk, and demanded cash. The robber also pointed the gun at another man in the store and demanded his keys. The suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of money and got into the victim’s car. He then got out of the vehicle and ran from the scene on foot. No one was injured.
Deputies and a Hall County K9 Unit searched the area but did not locate the robber. The suspect is described as a black male who was wearing a black or blue hooded jacket and black pants. The robber used a neck gaiter to cover his face.
