Jeanne D. Lowery, 79, of Macon, formerly of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on January 14, 2021.
Jeanne was born in Alto, Georgia, on February 26, 1941, to the late Pledger and Floyce Dodd. Jeanne began singing solos at church at the age of 3 and loved music, never missing an opportunity to sing. She graduated from interior design school in Vienna, Virginia, and carried that passion with her throughout her life. She used her talents in interior design to make her home a showplace. As a true southern lady, she opened her heart and home to everyone and greeted them with a great big hug. Throughout her life, Jeanne and her husband called several different places home, including Winston Salem, North Carolina, Vienna, Virginia, Cornelia, Albany, and Byron, Georgia, but every place they lived, was not just a house, it was her home. Together, Jeanne and Lewis raised their son Jimmy, who gave them two precious grandchildren. They were the light of her life and affectionately called her Mom-Mommie. Her sweet spirit will be greatly missed.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her son, who passed just one day after her, Jimmy Lowery. Infant son; Stephen Lowery, In-laws; Fred and Lorene Lowery and grandparents; Wash and Emma Nicholson.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 63 years, Lewis Lowery. Daughter in law; Cheryl Lowery. Grandson Trey Lowery and his wife, Shea. Granddaughter; Lauren Lowery and special cousin; Peggy Forester.
Services to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
