Habersham County officials announced Friday that Tim Sims has accepted the position as the county’s new Finance Director. Sims comes to Habersham by way of Hall County where he has worked for county government since 1998.
Sims has an extensive financial government background serving in such roles as Budget Officer, Financial Administration, and most recently as Hall County’s Financial Services/Purchasing Manager. In this role, he managed essential functions of the Finance Department as well as all functions of the Purchasing Department, a news release from Habersham County states.
Sims holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Georgia.
Habersham County Manager Phil Sutton says Sims has the skills, training, and knowledge to serve the Habersham community.
“We are very excited to welcome Mr. Sims to Habersham County Government,” says Sutton. “We are confident that he will be a tremendous asset to us.”
Sims’ first day on the job will be January 25, 2021.
