Two charged with trafficking after deputies seize $330K in drugs near Oakwood

Two suspects are behind bars after a traffic stop turned into a major drug bust late Thursday night near Oakwood.

According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy pulled over a vehicle at the intersection of Poplar Springs Fork and Bolding Road around 10:30 p.m. Inside the vehicle, deputies discovered approximately 1.3 kilos of methamphetamine and just under 700 grams of heroin. Deputies also confiscated roughly $1,500 cash, officials say.

Agents with the Gainesville/Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad responded to the scene and arrested the driver and passenger.

The suspects are identified as Miguel Angel Guzman-Abarca, 30, of Chicago, Illinois, and Miguel Angel Cadena-Pacheco, 38, of Gainesville. Each is charged with trafficking heroin and trafficking methamphetamine.

Agents transported the men to the Hall County Jail following their arrests. Both remained in jail without bond on Friday, Nov. 13.

The case remains under investigation by the multi-agency narcotics squad.
