Magical Gardens of Mauldin Return to Clarkesville

Children of Habersham and local counties will scream with excitement when they visit The Magical Gardens of Mauldin in Clarkesville, Georgia on April 25th from 11:00AM-1:00PM. On this day all of your fairy tale fantasies will come to life and magic will cover the Mauldin House.

“Basically this is the fourth year that we’ve offered this children’s event and it sort of all started several years ago when we had a group of children create fairy manikins and then they dressed the little bitty manikins and it just drew such a crowd of people who wanted to see how they dressed little bitty fairies and we sort of created a festival out of it,” says Mary Beth Horton. “We decided to have it out in the gardens because the gardens are so pretty this time of year and every year it’s just grown and grown and grown. It’s been compared to a junior Renaissance festival. What we have done now over the years is transform the gardens into this magical place and when they enter they feel like they are sort of in a fairy tale.”

During the duration of the event, children will get the opportunity to explore their creative side along with other fun activities planned. “We have a fairy wand station where they can come and create fairy wands, we have face painting, we have a lady that comes and does music and dancing and she has all of these ribbon twirlers and it’s just a really sort of magical, mystical thing,” says Horton.

It may seem like this may only draw the attention of little girls but watch out boys, there are also activities planned especially for you! “For the boys we have a dragon shield making station and we also have masks so they look like knights,” added Horton.

A New Addition

Elsa will make her appearance at the Magical Gardens of Mauldin on April 25th.

“We have fairies and dragons hidden throughout the garden so you can go on a hunt but this year what we are doing that’s new is that we’ve actually gotten a puppet theater from Atlanta to come up and do a puppet show and they’ve created their show based on this very event,” says Horton. “They are going to come and do two shows one at 11:30AM and one at 12:15PM. It’s just very unique because it sort of allows the children to let their imaginations go and we want them to be artistic and we want them to feel like they’re in a magical setting. We make them feel like they’re king and queens for a day,” added Horton.

Your little ones will be thrilled to see one of their favorite new princesses make a special appearance as well. Elsa will make her Spring Appearance at the Magical Gardens of Mauldin and will be available for pictures and magical memory making.
