Myrtle Jean Downing Gunn, of Alto, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 25, 2020.
Born in Milan, Ohio on May 14, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Howard Burton & Erma Harriett Davis Downing. Myrtle worked in retail for many years before retirement. She volunteered her time for many different organizations including her church and food ministries. Most of all, Myrtle enjoyed precious time with her family and friends. She especially loved her fur babies. Myrtle attended Mt. Airy Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Thomas Gunn.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Robert F. Gunn, Jr. of Alto, GA; children, Robert F. Gunn, III., of Norwalk, OH; Lori Lynn Gunn of Athens, GA; Donald H. & Judy Gunn of Cornelia, GA; Richard P. & Pamela Fordham Gunn of Alto, GA; grandchildren, Kelli Leigh Gunn of Athens, GA; Peyton Fordham Gunn of Alto, GA; sister, Jan M. Heitsche of Norwalk, OH; special nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
A private family memorial will be held at the Gazebo at Mt. Airy Baptist Church at a later time.
