Multi-vehicle crash on GA-365 sends two to the hospital

Two people were injured Friday afternoon in a three-vehicle wreck at the intersection of GA-365 and GA-384/Duncan Bridge Road.

The accident happened around 1:49 p.m. on July 31. The Georgia State Patrol says Helen Edenfield, 84, of Atlanta, stopped in the left northbound lane of GA-365 with her left turn signal on. Cory Hart, 34, of Habersham County, was driving in the left lane behind her and “could not stop in time,” GSP says. Hart’s 2015 Kia Forte rear-ended Edenfield’s 2008 Jaguar xj8and pushed her vehicle into the middle of the intersection.

Hart’s vehicle spun into the righthand lane where a 2016 Ford F-350, driven by Teddy Ayers, 66, of Habersham, struck it and the trailer Hart was pulling.

Habersham EMS transported Hart by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Paramedics transported Edenfield to Habersham Medical Center in Demorest. Ayers and his front-seat passenger, Caren Ayers, 68, also of Habersham, were not injured.

The State Trooper who investigated the accident cited Edenfield for improperly stopping in the roadway.
