The Clarkesville Library invites patrons to participate in their MASKerade celebration. The creative mask competition is open through July 31st and prizes for Staff Pick and Patron’s Choice will be awarded.
To enter, create or decorate your own mask and then submit a photo to [email protected] or drop off the photo at the library.
Clarkesville Library Manager Shawna Meers-Ernst explains that the library staff hopes that this competition will help make the reality of masks in our everyday lives more fun.
Procedures in place to protect staff and patrons
State-wide, only 58% of Georgia’s libraries at open at this time. The Clarkesville Library staff works diligently with careful procedures to protect both staff members and patrons and keep the library open.
The library has set up both self-directed and self-contained checkout stations so library cards are handled only by the patrons. Books on hold are now ready on Hold Shelves that allow the patrons to claim their own books and check them out themselves, again limiting staff involvement.
All returned books are collected outside the building and are quarantined before being cleaned and resolved.
