A Cornelia man has been arrested and charged with five counts of child molestation. Habersham County arrest records show 38-year old Donald Shane Pitts was arrested April 17th. In addition to the molestation charges he faces two counts of simple battery.
According to Cornelia Police Chief Chad Smith the victim was an 11-year old child who was known to the accused. The alleged molestation occurred over a period of time. Smith says, “During the course of this investigation, it was determined that simple battery charges were warranted.”
Pitts is being held in the Habersham County Detention Center.
