As parents wait to hear how and when Habersham County Schools will reopen, they don’t have to wait to register their children for kindergarten.
“We will not be doing the registration as we have in the past,” explains Elementary Schools Director Rhonda Andrews. In-person registration, which was scheduled to take place back in March, had to be postponed and reworked due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, this year’s kindergarten registration is being done mostly online and over the phone.
How to register
New kindergarten parents are instructed to visit the district’s website at habershamschools.com and complete the online registration form. School personnel will contact parents sometime after July 23rd to gather additional information needed to complete the registration process.
Most information will be collected from parents after the first day of school, according to the website.
Parents of students who were enrolled in GA Pre-K at one of Habersham County School’s elementary schools do not have to complete an online registration form.
Registration for GA Pre-K classes for 2020-2021 has been completed. For more information regarding Pre-K, contact the director of elementary schools, Rhonda Andrews, at [email protected].
Open House activities at each school will be posted on school websites when finalized.
Parents are encouraged to periodically check the school system website for more information.
