Lewis Loudermilk, age 82 of Mt. Airy, passed away June 12, 2020.
Born in Mt. Airy on May 30, 1938, Mr. Loudermilk was the son of the late Ben and Flornett Pless Loudermilk. Mr. Loudermilk was retired from the Schnadig Corporation – International Furniture with over 35 years of loyal service. He was an extremely gifted musician having taught himself to play guitar and banjo and he was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. Mr. Loudermilk was a member of Glade Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Loudermilk is preceded in death by brothers Ferman Loudermilk and Marvin Loudermilk as well as sister Shirley Potts.
Survivors include daughter Lisa Loudermilk Savage of Cleveland, daughter Margaret Loudermilk Turner and her husband Randy of Gainesville, daughter Kimberly Loudermilk Helton and her husband Scott of Cleveland, sisters Virginia Riggins of Mt. Airy, Annie Sellers (Emory) of Mt. Airy, and Linda Hren (Slavko), grandchildren Amanda Helton Conner (Cole), Kelly Helton Arceo (Jose), Logan Helton, Cooper Savage and Christopher Savage, great-grandchildren Camila Arceo, Maia Cypher and Behr Conner, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
In consideration of public health and safety, a graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at Loudermilk Family Cemetery in Mt. Airy with Rev. Bobby Loudermilk officiating.
