Cornelia Job Fair Thursday

If you are a veteran looking for a job, plan to be in Cornelia on Thursday morning. The Georgia Department of Labor is putting together what they call a “resource and career expo” at the Cornelia United Methodist Church on Wyly Street.

More than 30 employers will be on hand either hiring now or looking to talk about future employment opportunities. The state will also have folks on hand to provide educational and other employment resources.

The event is set up specifically to help active, retired, and reserve military personnel and their families but anyone looking for work may attend.

If you come, dress for a job interview and bring plenty of resumes also grab a couple of pens to fill out applications. You’ll need to bring your drivers license and details of any job/specialty certifications you might have.

GDOL veterans employment representatives and staff from the department’s Habersham Career Center will be on hand to help job seekers from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday April 23 at the Cornelia United Methodist Church, 275 Wyly St in Cornelia.
