The Habersham Christian Learning Center is taking an innovative approach to its annual meeting this year. The center is canceling its in-person gathering and will hold its 40th Anniversary Annual Meeting over social media instead.
The move is in response to public health concerns related to the coronavirus. The Centers for Disease Control and state health officials are urging groups not to hold public gatherings of 50 or more for at least the next eight weeks.
HCLC will carry an “abbreviated ceremony” at 6 p.m. on March 26 on Facebook Live.
“We will be working with our Board of Directors and Advisors, HCLC staff, and those who have volunteered for the Annual Meeting to choose a date for a Follow-Up Reception when this is all over,” the release says.
The annual meeting is HCLC’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Those who have sponsored tables this year will be recognized during the livestream. The cabin raffle will be held during the Follow Up Reception at a later date.
Habersham Christian Learning Center is putting together a video for its 40th celebration. If you’d like to participate, record a clip about what HCLC means to you and email it to [email protected].
