Cleveland)- White County native Carol Jackson has announced her intention to run for Probate Judge in this spring’s Republican primary.

Jackson has a long list of prior public service. She served as Clerk of Courts in White County for fourteen years, State Senator for six years, and County Manager for three years. As Clerk of Court, she served the Probate Court in its administrative duties.

Jackson currently serves as an associate vice president of North Georgia Technical College for Regional Economic Development.

Longtime incumbent White County Probate Judge Garrison Baker is resigning at the end of his term this year.

In a press statement released Monday Jackson commended him for his “tremendous work” and saluted him on his career.

“I pledge to continue his good work,” she says. “My goal is to ensure a smooth transition of the changes and to conduct the duties of the probate judge with dignity, compassion, and fairness.”

Qualifying for the position officially begins Monday, March 2nd.
