One person injured in wreck on GA-365 in Baldwin

Habersham EMS transported one person to the hospital today following an early morning wreck on GA-365 South in Baldwin.  The accident happened around 6:45 a.m. at the intersection with GA-384/Duncan Bridge Road.

The Georgia State Patrol says a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta and 2007 Honda Civic were traveling in the right southbound lane of GA-365. The driver of the Volkswagen slowed to stop at the traffic light and the Honda rear-ended it.

The impact pushed the Volkswagen into a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling east through the intersection.

The wreck injured the Volkswagen driver, identified as 43-year-old Cameron Venable. An ambulance took him to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with minor injuries.

The driver of the Honda 72-year-old James Whitaker, and the driver of the pickup, 67-year-old Paul Smart, were not injured.

The Trooper charged Whitaker with following too closely.

The wreck shut down the southbound lanes near the crash site for approximately one hour.
