GSP seeks witnesses to road rage incident in Mt. Airy

The Georgia State Patrol continues to investigate an alleged road rage incident that may have contributed to a wreck on GA-365 South in Mt. Airy. Two people were injured in the single-vehicle crash just south of Cody Road on Saturday, Jan. 25.

Witnesses reported seeing the blue Ford Explorer that wrecked and a small black car “jockeying for position” on the highway just before the accident. They said the two vehicles were “very close” when the Explorer ran off the road and overturned.

The incident happened between 1:30-1:48 p.m. on GA-365 South between Hollywood and Mt. Airy, GA.

“At this time, there is no evidence indicating that contact was made between the two vehicles,” says GSP Sergeant First Class Chad Johnson. “We would certainly like to hear from anyone that may have witnessed the incident.”
