Hall County Sheriff’s Office Investigators have determined that the Jan. 4 death of a married couple in South Hall County was the result of a murder-suicide.
Sheriff’s Office detectives received preliminary autopsy results from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Crime Lab on Tuesday, Jan. 14. The findings indicate that both Meakna and Ty Iang died as a result of gunshot wounds to their heads.
The investigation revealed that the 55-year-old Ty Iang fired a handgun at his 47-year-old wife and then turned the gun on himself.
A family member discovered the bodies in the couple’s bedroom of their home on Little Doe Walk near Spout Springs Road.
Two of the Iang’s sons, ages 16 and 20, and the sons’ grandmother were in the home at the time of the incident.
The case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
