Geneva Woods Thomas

Geneva Woods Thomas, age 83 of Baldwin and formerly of Toccoa, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Habersham Medical Center.

Born in Stephens County on June 16, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Walter Woods and Julia Heaton Youngblood. Mrs. Thomas was a member of Hollywood Church of God, where she enjoyed being a servant to others. In her spare time, she also enjoyed gardening, flowers, yard sales, and playing BINGO. She was the previous owner and operator of the Red Barn Nursery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Samuel Thomas; stepfather, Elmo Youngblood; brother, Jack Woods; sister, Christine Copeland Todd.

Surviving are daughter, Judie Fulbright of Demorest; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy & Lisa Thomas of Toccoa and Pastor Mike & Mary Beth Thomas of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Britney Lavergne, Kylie Thomas, Shelley Akerman, Joshua Goodbar, Emily Thomas, Spencer Thomas, and Gracen Thomas; great grandchildren, Marcos Herrera, Alyssa Lavergne, and Annabelle Goodbar; sister, Bernice Medlin of Toccoa; brothers, Frank Woods of Central, SC, Dalton “Woody” Woods of Toccoa, and Billy Woods of Littlerock, AR; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 4:00 pm Saturday, April 4, 2015, at The Torch Worship Center with Rev. Tim Garrett and Rev. Wesley Forrester officiating. Interment will follow in the Toccoa City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at The Torch Worship Center, 800 Cannon Bridge Rd, Demorest, GA 30535, from 1:00 pm Saturday until the funeral hour.
