The Gene Haas Foundation recently awarded a $12,000 grant to the North Georgia Technical College Foundation to support student scholarships and student competition teams. The scholarships will be awarded to students who are currently enrolled or will be enrolling in a Computer Numeric Control (CNC) technology training or CNC machining-based engineering program at NGTC.

Scholarships may be used for tuition, books, fees, and tools required by the program.

Haas Automation, Inc., founded by Gene Haas in 1983, is America’s leading builder of CNC machine tools and is now a billion-dollar company. The Gene Haas Foundation’s primary goal is to build skills in the machining industry by providing scholarships for CNC machine technology students.

“We really appreciate what Haas and Phillips Corporation does for our program and students here at North Georgia Technical College,” said NGTC CNC instructor Shannon Gary. “Haas is a big part of our machining program and the success of our students.”

This is the second consecutive year that the Gene Haas Foundation has donated funds to the NGTC Foundation for students’ financial needs.
