Four people are in jail following two recent drug busts in Habersham County. Special Agent in Charge of the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) Mitchell Posey says the arrests came after citizens complained of illegal narcotic activity at 616 Cliff C Kimsey Drive in Cornelia and 407 Fisk Avenue in Demorest.
Agents from ARDEO, the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and Cornelia Police Department investigated the complaints on Cliff C Kimsey Drive. That led to the arrests of 32-year old Buffy Hubbard and 24-year old Sterling Strength. Both are charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. According to ARDEO, both illegal narcotics were found at the residence.
The Habersham County Sherriff’s Office, Demorest Police Department and ARDEO also investigated citizens’ complaints at the Fisk Avenue residence. ARDEO reports marijuana and methamphetamine were found at that residence. 34-year old Douglas Davis was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. 26-year old Joshua Carrol is charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. According to Posey, Carrol had numerous other outstanding Habersham County felony warrants.
All four suspects are being held in the Habersham County Detention Center. Their arrests are the latest in a string of drug arrests in northeast Georgia by ARDEO and local law enforcement. At least fourteen people have been arrested and charged since late February.
ARDEO encourages citizens to report any suspicious drug activity at 706-348-7410 or contact your local Sheriff’s Office or Police Department.
