The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office has received a grant for $19,754.59 from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS).
The grant, which will continue through September of 2020, will help finance the continued maintaining of the county’s Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic (H.E.A.T.) Unit. The unit strives to reduce traffic crashes with injuries and deaths inside Habersham County and the State of Georgia.
“The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety is committed to keeping everyone safe on our roads and highways, from the smallest precious cargo to the most seasoned drivers,” says GOHS Director Allen Poole.
There are more than two dozen H.E.A.T. units attached to sheriff’s offices and police departments throughout the state
