Piedmont College will present its 31st annual service of Lessons and Carols at 7:30 p.m., December 6 and 7 in the Chapel on the Demorest campus. The performances are free, and everyone is invited.
The musical celebration of Christmas will feature the 100-voice Piedmont Chorale and the Piedmont College Singers, directed by Wallace Hinson; Louise Bass, organ; the Piedmont Brass; James Geiger, percussion; and Habersham Central High School Singers, directed by Lindsay Patten Murray.
The program will include works by David Willcocks, C. Hubert H. Parry, George Guest, Paul Manz, Charles Wood, Ola Gjeilo, Georg Fredric Handel and others. The performance includes traditional Christmas carols with audience participation.
The liturgist for the program will be the Rev. Timothy Garvin-Leighton, Campus Minister. Lectors will include Piedmont faculty and staff members Justin White, Tim Lytle, Dale Van Cantfort, Jeff Bowers, Melissa Tingle, John Roberts, Lashanda Brumfield, Rebecca Brantley, and Bob Glass.
Those attending are encouraged to arrive early as this is a popular event and seating is limited.
