Wind ensemble fans have two opportunities to hear music by large and small groups on November 17 and November 19 at the Piedmont College Chapel.
The Wind Ensemble Partnership Concert will be 4 p.m., Sunday, November 17. Directed by Vicki Pinson, the concert will feature performances by the Piedmont Wind Ensemble and musicians from five area high schools and one middle school. The group will perform seven works, The Lion King and The Avenger March among them.
In addition to the Piedmont Wind Ensemble, the group will include players from Banks County High School, Jon Congdon, director; Habersham Central High School, Ryan Dukes, director; Hart County High School, Alan Tolbert, director; North Hall High School, Kevin Carwile, director; South Habersham Middle School, James Geiger, director; and White County High School, Michael Pickett, director.
The Piedmont Chamber and Wind Ensembles will perform 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 19. Directed by Dianasue Walton, the Chamber Ensemble will perform five works by composers including Beethoven and Haydon.
The Wind Ensemble, conducted by Pinson, will perform works by 20th century composers including K.L. King and David R. Holsinger.
Both concerts are free. The Chapel and is located on Central Avenue in Demorest.
