Gerald Wayne McDuffie, age 80, of Cornelia, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 2, 2019.
Mr. McDuffie was born on June 19, 1939, in Watkinsville, Georgia to the late John and Agnes Wright McDuffie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Richard Gerald McDuffie. He was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church and served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. Mr. McDuffie retired from the United States Department of Agriculture with 50 years of loyal service. Gerald, known as “Pa” to his grandchildren was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Judy McDuffie, of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Janet McDuffie, of Homer; daughter and son-in-law, Nan McDuffie Woods and Louis, of Homer; grandchildren and spouses, Christopher and Shelby McDuffie; Lindsey and Christopher Lance; Julia Anne and Austin Smith; Ashley and Kegan Acton; great-grandchildren, Ariel, and Emersyn.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 3, 2019, at Level Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Rice and Dr. Brian James officiating. Interment will follow in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Sunday, November 3, 2019, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel prior to the service.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Level Grove Baptist Church.
