Viola Evelyn Parker Campbell, age 78 of Gillsville, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 26, 2019, following an extended illness.
Born in Lula, Georgia in Banks County on October 30, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Oliver Drew Parker & Ethel Jordan Parker. Evelyn was retired from Habersham County Medical Center where she served as a Medical Technologist for many years. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, & great-grandmother. Evelyn was a devoted member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church, a member of the Farm Bureau Lady’s Committee, served as a Lady Shriner, and delivered “Meals on Wheels” for the Banks County Senior Citizen’s Center for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Bonnell Campbell; and an infant brother, Clarence Jordan.
Survivors include her children, Sherryl Parrish of Boynton Beach, FL; Jerry Whitfield of Cornelia, GA; Karen Daniel of Gillsville, GA; Lena & Matthew Cahill of Mt. Airy, GA; Marie & Lynn Morse of Maysville, GA; sister, Imogene Parker Manning of Rural Hall, NC; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 nieces, 2 nephews, & their spouses.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 02, 2019 at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Derek Howard & Rev. Billy Burrell officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
