Public works crews are on the scene working to repair a water main break in Demorest. City Clerk Marlena Sosebee tells Now Habersham the break happened around 3:30pm Tuesday. She says contractors hit the water line while replacing the city’s sewer lines in the area of G&P Auto on Hwy. 441. Water is now out in the area between G&P and Express Mart on Central Avenue.
Affected areas include East Side Drive, Charlie Batson Road, Batson Hill Apartments, Legacy Drive and Camp Fry Road.
“We do not have an estimated time at this point as to when it’s going to be fixed,” Sosebee says. “They’re working diligently to repair it.”
