Gainesville man charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of children

Hall County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Gainesville man this week after investigators located numerous images of child sexual abuse on the suspect’s electronic devices.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office Investigators obtained warrants for the arrest of Taylor Starcher, 24, on Tuesday, September 3. He was taken into custody without incident on Wednesday, September 4.

The arrest is the culmination of a case that began with a cyber tip from the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Deputies seized Starcher’s devices while serving a search warrant at his residence in the 3900 block of U.S. 129/Cleveland Highway on May 2, 2019, the sheriff’s office says. The warrant was part of Operation Southern Impact III, a multi-state law enforcement effort targeting child exploitation.

Forensic processing on the devices was completed on Tuesday, September 3, and revealed 50 images of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Starcher is charged with 50 counts of sexual exploitation of children.

He was being held at the Hall County Jail without bond on Thursday, September 5. The case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia ICAC Task Force.
