Deputies arrest man for placing phone in bathroom

Hall County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Flowery Branch man on Saturday, August 24, for two counts of invasion of privacy in south Hall County.

Deputies responded to a call for service on Lanier Islands Parkway at approximately 4:45 p.m. Deputies spoke with personnel at LandShark Bar and Grill who had discovered a cell phone in a ceiling vent of an employee bathroom. Employees had removed the phone from the vent and discovered it was recording video.

Management determined the phone belonged to Micah John Slabiak, 42, an employee at the time. When confronted with the allegation, Slabiak fled on foot, but was detained by staff members until deputies arrived.

According to the preliminary investigation, the phone had captured video of two victims.

Slabiak was arrested and booked into the Hall County Jail. He was released on Monday afternoon, August 26, on $9,200 bond.

The case remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
